Player Profile: Nicholas Pentz

The Coca-Cola Schools’ T20 Challenge is upon us and SSN have identified key players from each of the six teams. We profile Westville star Nicholas Pentz.

Nick Pentz smashes the ball to the boundary.

Pentz is an important cog in the Westville cricket machine that has been very impressive for the past few years. His ability with both bat and ball keeps in in the game at all times.

The tall all-rounder is an aggressive cricketer and has the kind of fighting spirit that makes him invaluable in a tyeam environment.

On a lighter note, Pentz is somewhat of a character and his long list of superstitions and rituals while batting might make even Neil McKenzie shake his head in disbelief!

Yes, I have to pad up in one particular way, always say work hard to whoever I am batting with between every over, always tap my bat on the crease three times after every over, after every three balls I have to mark my crease three times, I hit my bat three times on the ground before the bowler bowls the ball.
